From Mission to Action!

In business they say you have to have a vision, that you can create a mission statement to put this vision into words. I thought this would be an interesting exercise so I came up with one, and the more I thought about it the stronger I felt about it! Here it is - To heal the world by teaching people how to heal themselves. Everything I do I can map back to this mission statement, it keeps me on track.  So when I began to look to expanding my work, I came right back to this as a springboard.

One of the biggest questions I keep asking is this –  How can I reach more people? So I started thinking about what people need, so I asked even more questions – to make sure I found the right question!  I came up with this one “What is the main problem that people are experiencing that is stopping them from receiving healing?”

I love my healing practice and I have had so many amazing results with my clients; including pain relief (both physical and emotional), career enhancement, new relationships, increased self-esteem, I know the healing work has helped people renew their zest for life. But it doesn’t stop in my healing centre, reports after distance healing on Facebook included amazing stories such as an anorexic who gained back their appetite for food, people sleeping better, someone even felt safe enough to leave their house for the first time in 3 years! The Facebook healings were being sent out to groups of people at a time, one time I sent healing out to over 600 people! That felt really powerful to me, just being connected to so many people all with intention to feel better, amplified the healing so much – wow what a day that was!  But back to the business that I am in, the reality is that I have to charge for healing, just as a doctor would charge for his/her time, or a lawyer or a dentist for theirs.

As I was working through this issue I received three requests from three different people all looking for distance healing. When I came back with the fee for the sessions, all three people backed out, all saying they couldn’t afford it. Over that particular month I received 7 more requests with all the same results – backing out because of money. I was dismayed, it seemed to be all about the money. Therein lay the answer to my question – the biggest thing that gets between people and their healing process is the belief that they do not have enough money to invest in themselves. Ok I had an answer. So my next question was this – “How can I alleviate that pain?”

I put this question out to the Universe – “How can I best be of service if people who need the healing the most are really struggling with money, yet I need to feel that the healing I am sending out is being valued?” The answer came back much quicker this time – Set up a low cost healing group! I could send out one hour of powerful healing to the group twice a month, and each member pays less than the price of a meal to be part of it. Group healing is so powerful, and setting group intention amplifies the healing even more. Yes! This felt exactly right! Ok, this was good, it felt exciting, but it only fulfilled one part of my mission statement, the healing part. I still had to add in the “teaching people how to heal themselves” part so I thought about it for a while longer. Then I realised that I could supply the healing group with a forum – a space for the members to chat to each other, to share experiences, make new friends and feel supported as they empower each other to feel better. YES!

Now I knew I was on track. But then another idea came to me – what if I created a second group where people can also receive direct learning like webinars, audio and email lessons, all to enable them to learn how to heal themselves? Yes again! And so, Abby’s Healing Circle, and Abby’s Empowered Healing Circle were born! Wow – I love doing this work!

It’s OK to be Angry

Sometimes I get angry, I admit it. Yes, I consider myself a spiritual person – but there is a misconception about that spiritual people don’t get angry, are not thrown off by life, or never have a worry or a care in the world. It’s truly not the case.

All of us are spiritual essence in a physical, human body. Human bodies need other human bodies, and when you get a bunch of humans together, well, it’s inevitable that someone is going to annoy someone else. And it happens – a lot. The second worst thing you can do is react from a place of anger, the worst thing of all is to hold onto it. Continue reading “It’s OK to be Angry” »

Barefoot Healing – Guest Blog Post by Janice Tremeear

I’ve recently began studying Reflexology, part of my massage therapist training and know of the points within our hands and feet that stimulate and clear blockages within our system. Our teacher (a retired Podiatrist) recalled his treatments of finding out a woman was pregnant before anyone else knew or how thumb-walking across the big toe can help calm an Autistic child or prepare a student to take a test. For me he located a displaced cuboid bone and gently massaged it back where it belonged with wonderful results in the way my foot felt afterwards and the new strength found in my arch.

One of our neuromuscular teachers showed images of women in third world countries carrying large vessels of water onto their heads. Wearing only flip flops he pointed out that these women were healthier in their Crone years than most teens or twenty-somethings are today. The Social Network Can Be A Great Support

Every so often I like to share with my facebook page how I am doing and/or get their support with something. For example, I told everyone on facebook (15,000 people – so no mean feat) that I was giving up wheat. I got lots of encouragement, positivity, and of course many questions as to why I needed to do it. Which needless to say lead to a very interesting discussion! Because of the disclosure on my page and the positivity I received, I was able to feel strong enough to give up the dreaded wheat, and in fact I stayed off of it for a good 8 weeks and cleared out my system completely. I was then able to discover that it isn’t wheat that affects my energy levels and my body but in fact gluten, and it is also a combination of wheat and sugar – biscuits and cake are off the menu for good. But I’m back on the wheat again, (the non-glutenous variety) and feeling great.

It lead me to think that I should do this more often, share what I am doing with my friends out there, friends that support me and send me positivity, even though I have never met them. So last Friday I shared that I was having trouble sitting still long enough to finish chapter 3 of my new book. As the positive comments rolled in, I found myself moving off of facebook and into chapter 3, and what didn’t seem to click together unstuck and rebuilt itself, to create an even better than expected ending to a chapter entitled “Making Friends with Yourself”. I was (and still am) delighted about that, and came back to facebook to share the good news. 50 comments later and I’m still smiling! Continue reading “The Social Network Can Be A Great Support” »

The Meaning of Empowerment

Recently I took part in a series of online interviews entitled The Online Empowerment Series. I was one of 8 experts interviewed about how we use social media to spread our message and reach more people. I really enjoyed chatting to Marisa and Corinna, as well as the knowledge we shared, we also giggled a lot! My topic was “Authenticity and Social Media”; we talked about the energy of the Facebook feed, about the importance of being true to yourself when posting, and how being strong and grounded in valuing what you have to offer really does come across to your audience.

As you can see from the image I’ve posted along with this blog post, YouTube took the replay of the video down! They said we were in breach of their community guidelines. We were puzzled as to what exactly the problem was – did we have too much fun?! Did we empower people too much? What is empowerment anyway? And how can we be empowered when we’re online? My take on the Boston Bombings

Keep your light shining. After yesterday I have decided to use that phrase as my sign-off for letters and emails. Yesterday was the Boston marathon bombings, another ripple in the outwards motion of change. I suppose in a way it’s inevitable, when something changes there are aftershocks, this is one of those aftershocks. Let me explain by telling a story.

When I moved into my healing room three years ago it had been lying vacant for a long time. Before I moved in, the room had been a photography studio, an architect’s office and a grocery shop. After several months of standing dormant, vacant, I moved in and turned it into a healing space.

Even for those of you that claim to know nothing about energy you must accept that the energy of healing is very different to architecture, photography or groceries. Although there can be healing in architecture, photography and groceries, the chances that healing was primary focus in those businesses were small to none. So by moving into the space and changing the primary focus of the space to healing, I also changed the energy. Continue reading “My take on the Boston Bombings” »

The Sacred Marriage: More than just birds and bees. – Guest Blog Post by Luitha Tamaya

What is the Sacred Marriage?

In spiritual teachings from all over the world, we see the same story of creation being played out in a myriad of forms. In many traditions, we call this the Sacred Marriage.

While all very different, the mystical creation myths all have this same dynamic of the Sacred Marriage at their heart – the interplay between the sacred masculine and the sacred feminine as an essential process that brings about everything else in existence.

These teachings come from almost all spiritual traditions, from the Yin/Yang in Taoism, to the Yanantin/Masintin teachings in Andean mysticism, to Shiva and Shakti in Tantric traditions.

Even in those traditions that we’re accustomed to seeing as purely masculine, we find powerful teachings about the sacred feminine and her role in the process of creation, such as Shekinah in Judaism and the Holy Spirit in Christianity. Easter 2013

I tend to avoid discussing religious holidays but today I feel compelled to talk about the possibility of what the resurrection of Christ really means. I say the possibility – as a spiritual person, not a religious one, I can only say what I am feeling, and right now I am feeling that Christ Consciousness is already here.

I believe that the Christ Consciousness has returned, just as they say the messiah will return, the messiah in all of us is here now.

As human beings today we all have the capacity to connect to one of the higher, enlightened parts of the collective consciousness, the part which is connected to the teachings of Christ. It is within our grasp, all of us, not one above the other, not one greater than the other. We can all access this, all we need is the desire to do so.

There is no physical body to rise again, we are that physical body. It is the purity of heart, the love within us that rises now. Tap into the wellsprings of love that reside within your heart and allow this love to rise, to bubble, to pour out of you, out from your heart centre. Spread this love outwards to those people that you love, those that you care about; spread it even further to those that you are not getting along with, to those you have never met.

Send this love that is your birthright, our birthright, this love that belongs to everyone, send it out there, and raise the vibration of the planet.
