It can be so very difficult to turn things around in your life. The old and familiar behaviour is a comfort zone, even if it’s not a good space to be in. I think the biggest problem people have when looking at making changes in their lives is not being able to recognise themselves without the pain, the issues, the sadness.

Caroline Myss says that there is not yet a template (archetype) for the healthy person. We have templates for the joker, the entrepreneur, the computer geek, the lover, the mother, the addict… and many many more, but we don’t have one for the healthy person. This means that we have yet to pioneer this land, to envision what a healthy person says, does, acts… Who is this healthy person anyway??

That leads me to ask this question – Who would you be if you were healed?

Marianne Williamson’s famous quote is apt and I put it here in it’s whole form –

“…Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Now apply it to the template for the healthy person, someone who can live in their light, live in their strength, and not be afraid to show it. A person who is not embarrassed to say they are good at something, someone who takes rest when they need it, who follows their joy and their heart, who is generous with their love and who is available to help. A person who is creative and creates, who is true to their word, who looks after their body and respects the planet, and lives always in the space of compassion.

Then, imagine that person is you.

Give yourself permission to be that, to grow into it, to no longer be afraid of your light. How would your life look? What would you be doing that you’re not already doing? What would you no longer be doing?

Let’s create this template together, now. It’s so very much needed.
