I’m a lightworker. It’s a difficult word to define. It sounds woo woo, in that it’s “dubiously or outlandishly mystical, supernatural, or unscientific”. This definition is from Merriam Webster, who seem to change their definitions regularly depending on the flow of the mainstream narrative.
So what is a lightworker? Or I could ask how do I, personally, define ‘lightworker’? I have not actually written a piece anywhere where I define it yet I use the word lightworker as a hashtag on practically all of my Instagram posts. It’s time.
I would start by saying that a lightworker doesn’t adhere to the mainstream narrative. They are the outliers, the black sheep of the family, the one that’s ‘weird’. The word weird comes from the word wyrd, which is an occult word meaning “fate, chance, fortune” or ” literally “that which comes”. Occult refers to the western mystery/esoteric tradition concerned with arcane and hidden knowledge. Being wyrd is not such a bad thing after all.
People who are lightworkers have a sense of connection to God/Spirit/The Universe and therefore have a sense of faith in an organising principle which is bigger than themselves. This allows for surrender to fate/destiny/that which comes, in other words, the wyrd stuff. Belief in a higher purpose, a transcendent grace, a creator of all things, can really take the stress away from needing to control everything around you.
When you don’t need to control something you can see it for what it is. Then you can decide whether it is good for you, or not. Just sayin’.
Lightworkers are intuitive and can read energy. This means they can feel the discrepancy between what is true, and what is presented to them. For example, you meet a friend and ask them how they are feeling and they say fine, but you can tell by their flushed face and the way they are standing that there’s something off, something not right, they’re not telling you everything. Lightworkers who are authentic and practice integrity can tell the difference between your truth, the Truth, and what is not true i.e. lies. More people are waking up to this as we become more psychic, and that’s why so many lightworkers are currently having difficulty with the mainstream narrative.
Lightworkers work with light. This may seem to be the obvious answer to the question of “What is a lightworker?”, but what does it actually mean? Light as life force energy, light as pure consciousness, light as power. The sun, according to astrologers, is what powers everything. And life force energy is what powers you.
I hope this is making sense!
Lightworkers are not all love and light. We must acknowledge the darkness in ourselves, in each other and in the world in order to work with it to transform it to a higher frequency. That is the work in lightworker. Lightworkers must work with the dark and not run from it.
For too long the New Age has sold us the idea that lightworkers are love and light, fairies and unicorns. This perception was sold to us as a distraction from the truth. There are some real bad-ass unicorns out there, and fairies, well, if you’ve ever met a fairy then you’ll know they’re not something to invite in unless you’re prepared for the consequences.
The distraction of the New Age had great learning in it. There are many lightworkers who are relieved to now learn that they are allowed to make judgement calls, they are allowed to be angry and they do not have to give away pieces of themselves to satisfy somebody else. We forgive but we do not forget, we take the learning and grow and move on.
Lightworkers can use many tools to support their growth but the most important thing that Lightworkers need to do is clear and cleanse their energy field. This has always been my intention for the online group healing sessions – to provide a monthly space for everybody to come and shed the heaviness they’ve accumulated over the month, so they can be refreshed and renewed for the month that is to come. Yes, okay, I title each OGHS with a specific theme, but between you and me, the theme is just there for show. What I’m really doing is, in essence, the same thing each month. But because the energies each month are so different, I work with what is here in front of me in the moment and that’s what makes it so powerful. I make these healing sessions affordable, if you were to come to an OGHS each month, it could be all you need to keep you running on an even keel. They’re available to Flower and Tree healing circle members as part of their membership. You can visit this link to find out when the next one is happening, or you can pick up a replay.
Lightworkers can use tools to help them read energy. These tools are not for the feint hearted. Tarot, Oracle Cards and Angel Cards all invoke light beings that are here to help us, but they can inadvertently invoke dark beings which masquerade as light. The most important thing to know, if you’re a lightworker, is that it is your own darkness that primarily attracts in darkness. That’s why doing your inner work is vital.
And lightworkers come in many different flavours – we spawn from different tribes, different frequencies and different planets. Your soul holds the holographic map of where you are from, once it is incarnated into human form we lose that information and see ourselves as simply human and identify as that which we were conditioned to be. But once awakened, lightworkers know that we are so much more than that. Walking among us are starseeds, shamans, wizards, witches, earth angels, ascended masters (or as I call them, descended masters), gods and goddesses, and so much more.
One more thing – Lightworkers sign up for a purpose on Planet Earth. The main function of a lightworker is to transform heavy energy into high frequency energy. Some lightworkers are healers and help people shift low frequency into higher frequency. Many of them are caregivers. Some lightworkers work only with the land, others with buildings, some only work with animals. Some hold the frequency of the planetary grid to keep consciousness evolving. And others create portals for new information and light codes to come to this planet. There are many different roles for Lightworkers depending on what their contracts are, not everyone can do all of it but some can do more than others. The one thing that all lightworkers have in common is that they need to regularly clear and cleanse their energy in order to feel well.
I am a lightworker
The times have changed. The energy frequency that we are living in has shifted higher exponentially and Planet Earth needs us to step up into the truth of who we are, more now than ever before. We are more psychic, we have instant karma, and if we ask for a sign, we get it, almost immediately. There have never been so many light beings walking beside us to help us with our purpose, which is to hold the light grid and keep it high frequency. They want us to ask them for help. We are connected and it’s time to recognise the truth of who we actually are, powerful beings of light, light workers.
The reason why I have never taught the techniques that I will be teaching now is because for years I have been bound by the ethics, guidelines and duty of care parameters set by the Association of Psychotherapists. As a psychotherapist you have a duty of care towards your client. They teach you to treat your clients as if they were irresponsible children who could make a mistake and hurt themselves at any moment. I knew from the outset that I was going to have my own children and I did not want babies as clients. I wanted to work with responsible adults who may, from time to time, act out of their inner child self, and that’s okay, as long as they recognised it, and rectified it. And that’s what I’ve been blessed to have received.
I stepped away from the association last year as I realised that I was no longer practicing psychotherapy in the traditional sense of the word. When taking an obligatory course for my continuous professional development requirements (one that I had no interest in but was doing to tick a box as a psychotherapist), I knew that shamanic psychotherapy had superseded and bypassed anything that traditional psychotherapy had to offer for me. In my opinion, healing cannot possibly be achieved with the mind alone. And once you bring in Spirit, once you bring in the transpersonal, once you have great faith and have met the angels, gods and goddesses, have talked with ascended masters… …there’s no going back. The healing that you receive is accelerated and is irreversible. You become the embodied, healed self, for which there is currently no archetype.
Think about it. We have archetypes for the narcissist, for the alcoholic and the drug addict. We have studied the archetypal patterns for the prostitute and the healer, the businessman and the tyrant, but we do not study, or talk about the healed person. People are in fear of this healed person because they don’t know what it is. The energies are so unfamiliar. The healed person is strong, has good boundaries, knows how powerful they are, makes responsible decisions, helps others and lives a good and happy life. Why is this archetype not presented in the mainstream narrative? I think I know why. Do you?
I want to present the idea to you that the healed person is also a spiritual person. The healed person is someone who is physically healthy, who takes full responsibility for their choices, all of their choices, not just what they put into their bellies but every word that they say, every thought that they think, and everything that they do. Not all healed people are lightworkers though. However, everything is energy, all lightworkers know this, and there’s nothing finer than a healed lightworker.
So it’s time for me to step up my game so I can reach the people that need me now. I am no longer bound by the ethics and guidelines of man-made institutions, I am bound by my service to God. And I can talk freely about Archturians and Pleiadians, and teach a class on angel cards if I want to, and nobody is going to say “That’s not proper behaviour for an accredited psychotherapist!”
The more free I am of my bounds and shackles, the more light I have to offer to the world. I want to help you achieve this too. I am here to serve you, and to help you become your best healed self, to help you work your light. If you want to see what I have to offer, click here to visit Abby’s Online Academy. And click here if you want to know more about me. This feels like a ‘coming out’ of sorts. It’s all good. Healing is the letting go of what is not you, to step into the truth of who you are.
